Contest Rules:
~SMU students that participated in any Study Abroad program between Fall 2007 and Summer 2008 are eligible to enter.
~All photos must have been taken by the student entering them while enrolled in a study abroad program.
~Each person may enter up to three photos in the competition.
~Entries become the property of the SMU Study Abroad office.
~Entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. November 14, 2008.
Suggested Subjects:
~Recognizable “international” setting, such as a monument, wildlife, or building typical of program site or place you visited.
~Local people.
~Picturesque landscapes that convey unique character of place.
~Saint Mary’s students participating in study abroad program (note: pictures with alcohol will not be accepted).
These are only suggested subjects. Be creative!
Entry Information:
~Submitted photos may be digital or print format.
~All entries must be submitted with the Photo Contest Entry Form. Please contact our office to request the form.
~Printed photos should be submitted to the Study Abroad Office, Saint Mary’s Hall, Room 136. ~Digital photos should be submitted to smustudyabroad@hotmail.com.
~Printed photos should be at least 4 x 6 inches. Photos do not need to be matted, but should be protected within a sturdy folder or envelop to prevent damage.
~Digital photos must be .jpg file format with a resolution suitable for print format. Usually this requires 300 dpi (dots per inch) with a height and width of 4x 6 inches. However a lower dpi (many cameras default at 72 dpi) will work if the image size is large enough.
Digital file names should be: username_(title of photo).jpg.
Any entry may be used on the Study Abroad website or in promotional literature.
Prizes: Winners will be announced December 10 at an Awards Program. The top 10 will be featured in an exhibition in the Fitzgerald Library.
