Hello,
I wanted to write this letter to introduce myself to everyone at Saint Mary’s, especially students that have studied abroad, are studying abroad, or are thinking about studying abroad. I am excited to help SMU students learn, develop, and grow through study abroad.
Study abroad and international travel had a profound impact on my personal and professional development. I started traveling as a teenager when I went to London and Paris on a high school spring break trip. I continued traveling the next year on another high school trip to Scotland which led me to study abroad in Scotland as an undergrad at UW-Whitewater. These early experiences traveling fed my ambition to travel and learn about the world. I was lucky to be chosen to become the first Wisconsin in Scotland ambassador at my undergrad which gave me an outlet to relive my travels and encourage my classmates to study abroad. I have never stopped advocating study abroad and eventually carved a career path toward study abroad administration. Along the way I earned a bachelor’s degree in History & International Geography from UW-Whitewater, a master’s in College Student Personnel at Bowling Green State University, and traveled abroad 6 out of the last 8 years to over a dozen countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
I look forward to joining the Saint Mary’s community and getting to know everyone. If there are any questions or comments for me or the Study Abroad Office feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Mitch Lawson

While selecting a university it is mandatory to take a look at the course catalogs of the opted program as by doing this you can have a clarity about the subject. Ensure that studying overseas meets your academic needs.
